Music Makes The World Go Round
Ode by the English poet Arthur O'Shaughnessy - 1873: We are the music makers, And we are the dreamers of dreams, Wandering by lone sea-breakers, And sitting by desolate streams;— World-losers and world-forsakers, On whom the pale moon gleams: Yet we are the movers and shakers Of the world for ever, it seems.

My grootste liefde is musiek daarom besit ek ‘n ongelooflike versameling van ‘n wye verskeidenheid musiek wat begin het van kleintyd af. Dit verskaf my ongekende vreugde.

“I present Hits and Memories & Jukebox Jamboree. I first opened the microphone in 1957 in Gibraltar in the Royal Air Force where I presented several shows including a Breakfast Show and voice-overs for the local cinema. In Australia I graduated from the Leigh Murray Radio Academy in Melbourne. I have presented various shows on four different Community Radio stations in Queensland as well as “guest announcer” on stations in both Victoria and Queensland, including Brisbane’s top radio station, B105.”

I started DJ ing around 30 years ago in night clubs in South Africa “Lots of late and drunk nights” but that is where my love of music and entertainment started. I spent over 30 years in the South African entertainment scene in one way or another.
I moved back to England in the mid 90’s and found it hard to get back into radio, so I joined our local hospital radio station. Presto “Broadband happened”. I then started an internet station, it was fun to run but I missed doing my own shows. Taken the plunge now and doing my own show and it has grown and grown.

Anton Coy Takes us through different eras of mostly American influenced Nostalgia! The 1950’s and 1960’s were two decades which witnessed not one, but several, music revolutions. Musical tastes which in 1950 were lead by Doris Day and Perry Como, ended in the late Sixties with Flower Power and Psychedelic Rock. And in between there was Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Cliff Richard and The Beatles, and much, much more besides !
